    The brief

Distance totals describe what happened. GhostLoop needs to make a route, a previous run, and the next challenge feel connected — with a clear action that gets the runner outside.

    The approach

Put the route on the map, make Start unmistakable, and use the ghost as a consistent visual cue for competition. Daily activity and themed challenges extend the experience beyond a single run.

    What people use instead

    • Strava

      What it does well

The social graph for endurance sport. Segments, clubs and kudos turn a solitary hour into something with an audience, and its route data is unmatched.

      Where it left a gap

Everything is measured against other people, and on the day you install, the leaderboard is full of strangers who are faster than you. The comparison that would actually motivate you — the version of you that ran this same loop in April — is a number in a list rather than something you can run against.

    So we built

Your last run is the rival. The ghost is on the route with you, ahead or behind, in real time — a race you can actually win.

    Race a circuit

    04 / Visual identity

    A small system.
    A distinct character.

Electric green on near-black, large athletic type, and a ghost motif that belongs to the product as much as the identity.

    05 / Design in practice

    The details do the work.

    01

    One decisive action

The oversized green Start control stands apart from supporting statistics.

    02

    The ghost is functional

The same motif identifies rivals and progress on a route.

    03

    A route becomes a destination

Named circuits give an abstract mileage goal a recognizable shape.
