Featured app
Orbit
A calmer way to keep people close. A relationship app that puts conversations, open promises, and reasons to reach out in one place.
Visit live websiteThe brief
An inbox can tell you what is unread, but it rarely helps you remember the introduction you promised or the friend whose conversation has gone quiet.
The approach
Build around people and follow-through. Chats preserve the familiar conversation view; Pulse surfaces open loops and upcoming moments. The public site lets visitors try a working reproduction with invented demo contacts.
What people use instead
Signal
What it does wellThe privacy standard. Nothing leaves the device unencrypted, and the project has earned the trust it has.
Where it left a gapIt is a transport, deliberately, and the discipline is the point. It carries what you say and keeps no view of what you promised or who you have not answered in five months.
WhatsApp
What it does wellUniversal reach. It is where the conversation already is, for most of the world.
Where it left a gapBuilt around the unread badge. History is a searchable pile rather than something that surfaces on its own, so a birthday mentioned in March is gone by June unless you happen to scroll past it.
Not another inbox. It reads the archive already on your Mac, locally, and tells you who is drifting and what you said you would do.

04 / Visual identity
A small system.
A distinct character.
A quiet neutral interface with a restrained orange accent. Fine rules and monospaced labels organize information without making relationships feel like a sales pipeline.

05 / Design in practice
The details do the work.
Two panes, one context
A conversation stays alongside the people list on desktop.
Nudges with a reason
Pulse explains what needs attention instead of showing only a notification count.
A small accent budget
Orange is used sparingly so meaningful actions stay easy to find.
